I found this adorable Alexander Henry fabric a year ago and fell for it so hard I bought an entire bolt! It reminds me of one of my favorite artist/authors Edward Gorey and of many happy evenings watching 'Mystery!' on PBS when I was a teenager. Love love love it!!!
Since I purchased the fabric I've made a few small things with it (mostly just cloth napkins) but haven't done much more with it because I wanted to save it for 'the perfect project'. I needed another project bag to stash my knitting in while I'm on the go because the plastic Ziploc I normally use just don't cut it what with needles jabbing through them every time I turn around.
Enter my awesome little Ghastlies project bag! I cut the fabric so that it would feature some of the larger characters of the lovely Ghastly clan. If you're working with a solid or a floral print for example you won't need to worry about this...There are so many tutorials online you can find to make these little drawstring bags and so many things you can do with them that it makes sense to have a handful of them around to organize with. There's a great easy to follow tutorial on Purlbee.com--just look up the 'Easy Drawstring Bag' and you're good to go!
I'm going glamping in 3 weeks and this baby is coming with me. I plan on spending some quality quiet time in the great outdoors making hats and mittens for my big Etsy stock up that's happening as I speak. As for now, I'm thinking that it's time to make a new GIANT knitting tote. The Ghastlies may appear again as the lining for this new bag... Stay tuned!
